What are veneers?

A veneer is a thin shield of tooth-coloured dental porcelain or composite that is placed over the tooth to correct any irregularities. Think of, for instance, discolouration, minor damage, gaps or a crooked tooth. Without drilling into healthy tissue, veneers allow us to create a bright, symmetrical smile. A method that fits perfectly with our vision of minimally invasive dentistry. The treatment itself is almost always painless.

A choice between dental porcelain and composite

Costs for placing veneers

The costs depend on the number of veneers and the material chosen. During a consultation, we will draw up a personalised treatment plan and provide you with a quote. To give you an idea of the costs, we have added a price indication below:

Composite veneers per tooth: € 180 – € 210

Dental porcelain veneers per tooth: € 700 – € 900

What does the treatment look like?

Composite veneers:

We will place the composite veneers directly onto the tooth in just one appointment. The colour of the veneer is chosen in consultation, after which it is modelled and cured. You will leave our practice with a new, radiant smile.

Dental porcelain veneers:

Dental porcelain veneers require two appointments. First, we will make a digital or physical impression and choose the colour. Our dental laboratory will then manufacture the veneers. During your second appointment, the veneers are professionally placed using a durable bonding technique.

Still unsure about the colour or shape? We offer the possibility of a try-in (test model) so you can see whether the desired result suits you. To this, you can add a Digital Smile Design (DSD). DSD is a method the dentist uses to visualise your perfect smile, completely tailored to your face and wishes.

Frequently asked questions

For whom are veneers suitable?

Dental veneers are possible when your oral health is in order. We always assess the condition of your teeth, gums and bite before advising you.

How do veneers feel?

Veneers feel like your own teeth. However, you will have to get used to them. Especially when your tooth shape has changed, making certain sounds may take some practice.

Are veneers covered by my health insurance?

Aesthetic treatments are usually not covered by the basic insurance. Some supplementary insurances do offer partial coverage. You can easily check this with your health insurer beforehand.

What is the lifespan of veneers?

First of all, this depends on the material. Composite has a lifespan of 5 to 7 years, depending on your lifestyle. Dental porcelain can last 10 to even 25 years if properly maintained. It is important to minimise nail biting, teeth grinding or consuming highly coloured foods and drinks (such as coffee and red wine).

How do I maintain veneers?

Brush and floss as you would your natural teeth. This will help you keep the veneers in the best condition. Composite may show some discolouration after 1-2 years, dental porcelain will not. We also recommend visiting a dental hygienist twice a year.
